EchoFX has announced the release of USBVision for Mac OS X 1.3.2 and VideoGlide for Mac OS X 1.3.2. The software lets various USB video digitizers work on the Mac. The update is free for registered users.
USBVision works with USB 1.1 devices made by Belkin, Global Village, Hauppage and others. VideoGlide works with USB 2.0 deices such as those that are made by LG, Pinnacle, Plextor and others. Both software applications are intended for use with video digitizing devices that don't ship with Mac-compatible software.
Features of either application include video capture and full-screen playback, duration-based recording, time-lapse recording and support for AppleScript.
Changes to the new 1.3.2 releases include a fix for exporting movies in Mac OS X 10.5 "Leopard." A memory leak problem with the USBVision decoder has been fixed and audio support has been added for VideoGlide when devices based on the Empia 2862 chipset are used.
Either application costs $29.95.
